Spreading hot tar on a road bed, mowing down fields of wild vegetation and laying down roofing membranes in the middle of an August summer day are all tasks that have been traditionally difficult to man with local labor. As a result, the construction industry has relied on immigrants from Central America and places elsewhere to perform those tasks that citizens of the United States are disinterested in performing. Compound that with a robust construction industry and the Trump administration's policies on immigration, and it worsens an already tight construction labor pool....
