FT. MYERS, October 30, 2014 – Becker & Poliakoff is pleased to announce that Tyra N. Read has joined the Real Estate Practice Group as a shareholder in the Ft. Myers office. Before joining Becker & Poliakoff, she practiced in the real estate group at Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A.
Ms. Read concentrates her practice in residential and commercial real estate matters. She has almost 15 years of experience in handling the purchase and sale of land and buildings, including development, easement and survey matters. She also prepares and reviews loan documents for banks, private lenders and borrowers, counsels landlords and tenants in lease negotiations and prepares residential and commercial leases.
In addition, Ms. Read drafts and reviews easement agreements, handles foreclosures, real estate and loan closings (including issuing title insurance) and works to resolve any real estate matter.
Ms. Read is AV rated as “preeminent” by Martindale Hubbell, the highest rating possible. In 2010, she was recognized by Florida Super Lawyers magazine as a “Rising Star” in the area of real estate. While up to 5% of the lawyers in the State are named to Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5% are named to the Rising Stars list.
Ms. Read is a prolific author on real estate matters. Two of her articles were chosen for inclusion the book, “Florida Foreclosure, What Lawyers Need to Know Now,” published by Thomson West in 2009 and available on Amazon.com.
Ms. Read is active in the Southwest Florida civic and business communities. She serves on the board of the Cape Coral Community Foundation, Cape Coral Construction Industry Association, and is a member of the Leadership Committee of Giving Alliance of Women. She is also a member of the Real Estate Investment Society, Southwest Florida Real Estate Investment Association, Lee Building Industry Association and the City of Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Read received her B.S. Degree from the University of South Florida and her J.D. degree from Stetson University Law School, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2000.
