Adam Cervera is a member of the Firm’s Business Litigation and Community Association Practice Groups. His practice centers around all aspects of litigation, including the handling of administrative proceedings with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation on behalf of his condominium association clients.

As a trial attorney who practices in both state and federal court, Adam focuses on helping his corporate and individual clients navigate through all facets of the litigation process. He has extensive experience litigating cases involving real estate disputes, breach of contract actions, covenant enforcement issues and other complex commercial matters. Adam has both jury and bench trial experience while also assisting clients with various appellate matters. Adam also has significant experience in alternative dispute resolution and has represented clients in countless mediations as well as arbitrations administered by the American Arbitration Association and Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. His representative clients include financial lenders, investors, condominium associations, corporations and small business owners.

Prior to joining Becker, Mr. Cervera clerked for the Honorable Judge Israel Reyes, Circuit Court Judge in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami-Dade County.

EXPERIENCE

  • United States v. Forest Hill Gardens E. Condo. Ass’n, Inc., 990 F. Supp. 2d 1344 (S.D. Fla. 2014). Successfully represented the US Government in limiting its financial liability under Chapter 718 of the Florida Statutes. Established binding precedent involving Florida’s Condominium Act’s “safe harbor” protections within § 718.116(1)(b)(1) Fla. Stat.
  • Moskovits v. Crystal House, Inc., 141 So. 3d 259, 260 (Fla. 3d DCA 2014). Successfully defended an appeal lodged in a contentious multi-count lawsuit brought against a condominium client by an aggrieved former owner.  The Third District affirmed the trial court’s ruling that summary judgment in favor of the condominium association was proper.
