Harold Henderson, who has been tapped to preside when Dallas Cowboys star Ezekiel Elliott’s appeal of his six-day suspension is heard on Aug. 29, has become NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s go-to guy for arbitrations.
The executive, who retired in 2012 after a long NFL career, is seen as more sympathetic to players than the commissioner would have been, which could benefit the young running back who was the league’s top rusher last year as a rookie. Elliott has been suspended for the first six games of this season for a series of assaults of his former girlfriend.
