Daniel Wallach Quoted in Sports Illustrated on Donald Sterling’s Appellate Strategy

Becker & Poliakoff sports law attorney Daniel Wallach was interviewed in Sports Illustrated about the recent legal maneuverings in the Donald Sterling probate court case. As Sports Illustrated’s Michael McCann exclusively reported, Mr. Sterling inexplicably missed the filing deadline for seeking appellate review by the California Supreme Court. The high court represented Mr. Sterling’s last opportunity to overturn the recently-completed sale of the Los Angeles Clippers to Steve Ballmer, which had been approved by a California probate court on August 12th. With that missed deadline, Donald Sterling’s chances of regaining control of the Los Angeles Clippers have, in the words of Michael McCann, “fallen from almost 0 to essentially 0.”  Daniel was quoted frequently in Michael McCann’s SI article about this stunning “game-over” development and he  also offered his take on Donald Sterling’s failed legal strategy and this critical missed opportunity.
