Federal judge Amos Mazzant has issued his ruling on Ezekiel Elliott’s and the NFLPA’s request for a preliminary injunction against the NFL. The judge ruled in favor of Elliott which means the NFL’s suspension will not take effect and Elliott will be able to play. According to a couple of reports he might be able to play all 16 games this season.

Elliott and the NFLPA argued their case if front of Judge Mazzant on Tuesday in East Texas District Court. They are seeking relief from “irreparable harm” if Elliott has to sit out games while the NFLPA laswsuit makes it way through the court system. This is very similar to what happened in the Deflategate case involving Tom Brady. Brady won the injunction and was allowed to play until the lawsuit was eventually heard, but he lost the overall case and eventually had to serve his suspension.

We’ll have to see if the NFL makes a counter-move.
