Bio

Bryony (Brian-ee) Swift is a shareholder in the firm’s community association practice group. She focuses her practice in the areas of general representation and dispute resolution for condominium and homeowner associations. With a focus in community association general counsel work, Bryony assists her clients in navigating corporate governance issues, regulatory compliance issues, owner compliance issues, governing document revisions, and day to day operations. As a former litigator, she has significant practical experience with the legal process from intake to post-trial motions and has experience in handling class action litigation. Her courtroom experience helps her respond to violations within a community with practical solutions, while also helping her guide her clients to the best possible outcomes.

Bryony adeptly reviews and interprets statutes, caselaw, administrative code sections, contracts, easements and various other legal documents. Her experience with and involvement in the Florida Legislative Alliance and the Community Association Leadership Lobby give her opportunities to support legislation beneficial to associations. Additionally, her involvement with the legislative process allows Bryony to give her clients insight into expected changes in the law. She showcases her transactional proficiency by skillfully crafting Original, Amended and Restated Declarations for Condominiums, Homeowners’ Association Declarations, Articles of Incorporation, Association Bylaws, Declaration Amendments, and other crucial transactional documents, crafting documents that incorporate future changes in the law, where future changes are expected to be beneficial to associations.

Ms. Swift is a voting member of the Real Property and Trust Law Section’s Condominium and Planned Development Committee of the Florida Bar, a Delegate to the Florida Legislative Alliance, a member of the Community Association Leadership Lobby, a former president of the Young Lawyers’ Division of the Manatee County Bar Association, a former board member of both the Manatee County Bar and the Manatee Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, a former Chair of the first Young Professionals’ Committee within Community Association Institute, and a member of two honors fraternities.
