Overview
Jake Schulman is a member of Becker’s Real Estate Practice in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. His practice focuses on transactional commercial and residential real estate, real estate development and finance, as well as a wide range of business transactions and contract matters. He regularly handles closings and title work, ensuring smooth and efficient transactions for clients.
With experience in mortgage and asset-based lending, real estate and business workouts, and debtor/creditor law, Mr. Schulman provides comprehensive legal services that address both transactional and litigation-related needs. His background also includes complex business litigation, bankruptcy, and the formation and structuring of business organizations.
Mr. Schulman began his legal career as a litigator, managing a diverse caseload that included fraud, Ponzi schemes, landlord/tenant disputes, construction litigation, environmental claims, and employment matters. This foundation in litigation informs his transactional work, giving him valuable insight into how contracts function in real-world disputes and allowing him to proactively mitigate potential legal issues.
Over the course of his career, he has handled a wide range of residential and commercial real estate matters, including leases, acquisitions, and development projects. He expertly oversees the entire transaction process—from due diligence and contract negotiation to title examination and closing—with a strategic, detail-oriented approach.
Deeply passionate about real estate, the economy, and history, Mr. Schulman brings a thoughtful and analytical perspective to his work. Outside the office, he enjoys golf, tennis, traveling, and discovering new and unusual restaurants.
