Overview
Jennifer M. Kurtz, Esq. is a senior attorney in Becker’s Condo, Co-op & HOA Practice, based in the firm’s Red Bank, New Jersey office. She brings significant experience representing condominium and community associations, as well as extensive litigation and appellate experience, to her practice. Ms. Kurtz advises associations and their boards on a range of governance and operational matters, including interpretation and enforcement of governing documents, owner disputes, collections, contracts, elections, assessments and other issues affecting community associations.
Prior to joining Becker, Ms. Kurtz represented community associations in connection with governance matters, litigation and day-to-day operational issues. Her experience includes advising boards and property managers, addressing disputes between associations and individual owners, interpreting governing documents, handling collection matters, and assisting associations with contracts, elections and compliance with applicable laws. She also has experience representing associations and other clients in litigation involving property, contract and other civil disputes.
Ms. Kurtz is also an experienced appellate attorney who practiced before the New Jersey Appellate Division for nearly a decade as Designated Counsel for the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender. She has represented clients in complex litigation and appeals and has extensive experience with motion practice, discovery, trial preparation and appellate advocacy. Her broader litigation experience includes representing public entities, businesses and individuals in matters involving employment disputes, contracts, civil rights and other complex legal issues.
Ms. Kurtz earned her B.A. in Government from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, where she served on the Moot Court Board and as an Articles Editor for the Public Contract Law Journal.
