Overview

Kathleen G. Reres is a Shareholder in Becker’s Community Association practice group and is based in the firm’s Tampa office. She represents a wide range of clients including condominium and homeowners’ associations, business organizations, financial institutions, municipalities, and individual property owners.

Kathleen focuses her practice on both litigation and general counsel matters related to community associations. Her litigation experience includes covenant enforcement, collections, foreclosure actions, municipal code enforcement, landlord-tenant disputes, and breach of fiduciary duty claims. She has successfully defended board members in nonprofit governance disputes and has prevailed in multiple appellate cases involving lien foreclosures and municipal enforcement actions.

As general counsel, Kathleen provides comprehensive legal support to community associations, assisting boards with governing document interpretation, statutory compliance, document amendments and revitalizations, and day-to-day operational guidance. She routinely prepares legal opinions, drafts policies for collections and enforcement, manages official records requests, and advises on fair housing accommodations. She is also well-versed in navigating high-conflict membership meetings, including election oversight.
