Overview
Kenneth O’Donohue is an attorney in Becker’s Construction Law & Litigation Practice based in the firm’s Morristown, New Jersey office. He represents developers, contractors, design professionals, and other construction industry stakeholders in complex litigation involving residential, condominium, and commercial projects.
Kenneth has extensive experience handling construction defect disputes, including matters involving building code violations, negligence, breach of warranty, contract claims, and consumer fraud allegations. He regularly represents clients in state and federal courts and has successfully managed all phases of litigation, including motion practice, alternative dispute resolution, mediations, and appeals. In addition to his construction practice, Kenneth has experience handling premises liability and complex business disputes.
Prior to joining Becker, Kenneth focused his practice on construction defect litigation, premises liability, professional liability, and other complex civil matters. Earlier in his career, he served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Christine Farrington in Essex County, providing him with valuable insight into the judicial process and litigation strategy.
Kenneth has handled appeals before the New Jersey Appellate Division and co-authored the successful appeal in Youssef v. Shri Ram Donuts, LLC, 247 N.J. 234 (2021), a case of first impression in which the New Jersey Supreme Court extended the state’s “storm in progress” doctrine to lessees and snow removal contractors.
Before entering the legal profession, Kenneth worked for an electrical contracting company, giving him firsthand knowledge of the construction industry and a practical understanding of the challenges facing his clients. This experience enables him to approach construction disputes with both legal and technical insight.
Kenneth is admitted to practice in New Jersey and before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He earned his Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School and received his Bachelor of Arts from Ramapo College of New Jersey.
Outside the office, Kenneth enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. An avid musician, he also stays active through football, hockey, softball, and golf.
