Lilliana Farinas-Sabogal is a shareholder in Becker’s Community Association and Business Litigation practice groups. In addition to her experience in assisting community associations in their day-to-day business, management and the operational aspects of governing their communities, she assists Boards of Directors, unit owners and community association managers in analyzing and resolving their often complex contractual and transactional disputes and issues. Ms. Farinas-Sabogal is also one of only 190 attorneys statewide who is a Board Certified Specialist in Condominium and Planned Development Law.

Ms. Farinas-Sabogal’s practice further extends to involvement and expertise in appellate drafting, practice and proceedings. She has handled appeals involving a broad range of subject matters and argued before a number of tribunals. For ten years, she was an Adjunct Professor at St. Thomas University, School of Law, and taught Appellate Advocacy, Legal Research and Writing and Advanced Legal Research and Writing.


  • Handles and argues appellate cases throughout Florida on a wide variety of issues, including several issues of first impression, specifically concerning community association law.
  • Analyzes and advises community associations on complex issues, including the impact of the Marketable Record Title Act on their community and how to avoid or remedy such impact.
  • Has expertise in drafting, revising and interpreting community association governing documents and amendments.
  • Negotiates and prepares contracts and modifications between community associations and various service providers.
  • Assists clients with their general day-to-day needs regarding building or community issues, association corporate matters, general budgeting and financial operations and unit specific matters.
