Overview
Michael J. Villarosa is a Senior Attorney in Becker’s Business Litigation and Condo, Co-Op & HOA Practice Groups and is based in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. With more than 15 years of experience practicing law in South Florida, he represents businesses, community associations, and property owners in a broad range of commercial and real estate-related disputes.
Michael has extensive experience handling all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, mediations and arbitrations, evidentiary hearings, trials, administrative proceedings, and bankruptcy matters. His practice encompasses breach of contract and fiduciary duty claims, construction defect disputes, personal injury matters, discrimination claims, intellectual property issues, and commercial litigation. He has also handled matters involving the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act (FCCPA) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), as well as mechanic’s lien foreclosures and other real estate-related disputes.
Prior to joining Becker, Michael managed collection, foreclosure, and bankruptcy matters on behalf of community association creditors and represented clients in a variety of commercial and community association disputes. Throughout his career, he has represented homeowners and condominium associations, corporations, and commercial developers in state and federal courts.
Michael is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
He earned his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law, where he received the High Grade Award in Constitutional Law and the Fred Damsky Award from the B’nai B’rith Justice Unit. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of South Florida.
Outside the office, Michael is an avid runner and enjoys spending time with his family.
