Attorney Anne Hathorn to Head Community Association Law Practice Group for Becker & Poliakoff Tampa Bay Office

TAMPA, May 23. 2014 – Becker & Poliakoff has appointed attorney Anne Hathorn as the leader of the Community Association Law Practice Group in the firm’s Tampa Bay office. Since joining Becker & Poliakoff in 2005, Ms. Hathorn has focused her practice exclusively on the representation of condominium, homeowner, cooperative and other common interest realty associations.

Ms. Hathorn provides support to community associations in areas that include: collections; compliance with the Florida statutes, federal statutes and Florida regulations; document amendments; loans and lines of credit; transfer from developer control; covenant enforcement; interaction with the Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes; HUD complaints; preparation and review of vendor contracts; and interpretation of governing documents.

Ms. Hathorn serves on the Board of Directors of the Community Associations Institute’s Suncoast Chapter. In addition, she is a member of the Florida Bar’s Section on Real Property, Probate and Trust Law, and the Condominium and Planned Development Committee.

Ms. Hathorn is a frequent lecturer on topics related to community association operations and a participant in regular programs devoted to educating property managers, board members and professionals servicing the community association field.

Ms. Hathorn attended Florida State University where she received her J.D. and B.A. degrees.
