STUART, FL, July 29, 2014 – Becker & Poliakoff is pleased to announce that attorney Jane L. Cornett, was named to Florida Trend’s 11th annual Legal Elite list. The list recognizes the top tier of attorneys practicing in the state as chosen by their peers. Ms. Cornett was also named to the Legal Elite list in 2009.
A member of Becker & Poliakoff’s Community Association Law Practice group, Ms. Cornett is the co-managing shareholder of the Stuart office. She was a Senior Partner in Cornett, Googe & Associates, P.A. prior to joining Becker & Poliakoff.
Ms. Cornett has practiced law in Martin County since 1981. She concentrates her practice in the representation of condominium associations, homeowner associations and golf course communities. She currently represents more than 325 associations in Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Palm Beach counties. She also handles real estate transactions and is a title agent for Attorneys’ Title Fund Services, and is also a Certified Circuit Civil Mediator.
Ms. Cornett is active in Martin County’s civic and legal communities. She is a founder and past president of Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Martin County and serves in leadership positions with organizations including the Council on Aging of Martin County, Legal Aid Society of Martin County Bar, and Treasure Coast Community Associations (TCCA).
Ms. Cornett is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University and the University Of Florida Levin College Of Law.
