Rosalyn Frazier firmly believes that your desire to be great should never outweigh your desire to be of great service – a heart-centered philosophy that infuses every decision she makes as CEO of Broward Community & Family Health Center. As she tells Becker Shareholder Jamie Dokovna, focusing on barriers – whether they are rooted in racism, sexism, economic disparity, or any other place of ignorance and deficiency – is useless. It is vital to acknowledge those obstacles only as far as you must to resolve and remove them. Your focus, however, should never waiver from the ultimate goal – making life better for the underserved.
In this interview, Rosalyn discusses being called to serve the community of Natchitoches, LA (of Steel Magnolias fame) on her way to revitalizing accessible healthcare in Broward County, FL; being driven by a definition of family that transcends shared blood; welcoming the greatness of others (special shout-out to Becker’s Yolanda Cash Jackson) and allowing it to inspire instead of threaten; appreciating the resiliency of women; and so much more.
