Becker’s Michael Gongora Awarded “Best Politician of the Year” by OUTSFL Readers

Becker is excited to announce Michael Gongora, a community association Shareholder, has been named “Best Politician of the Year” by readers of OUTSFL Magazine. This award reflects Michael’s dedication in the political arena and commitment to creating positive change in our local community.

Michael is a very active member of Miami Dade County’s civic, charitable, business, and legal communities. He served three terms on the Miami Beach Commission (2017–2021). In 2021, he was appointed by the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners to serve as a member of the Board of Rules and Appeals. He is the former Chairman of the Miami Beach Latin Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and former Chairman of ECOMB – the Environmental Coalition of Miami & the Beaches.

Michael has consistently worked towards advancing important causes, championing community interests, and fostering unity among residents. He was Miami Beach’s first openly gay commissioner and has touted his efforts at creating an anti-bullying task force that has produced manuals and training that are sensitive to the needs of minorities.

Miami Beach Commissioner David Richardson, North Miami Councilman Scott Galvin, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Miami-Dade Commissioner Eileen Higgins and North Miami City Clerk Vanessa Joseph were all nominated in the “Best Politician” category.

Michael Góngora is the lead Community Association Litigator in the Miami office. His experience representing community associations includes handling various contracts, association declarations, litigation, and disputes that may arise from these and other issues.
