PRIVACY NOTICE ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA – InterAction
Pursuant to EU Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”), Becker & Poliakoff (hereinafter, “Becker”), with its registered office at 1 E Broward Blvd, Suite 1800, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301, United States, in the person of its legal representative pro tempore, fax: 954.985.4176 email: becker@beckerlawyers.com, website: www.beckerlawyers.com, in its capacity as Data Controller, hereby informs the Participants of the event (hereinafter, the “Event”) that their personal data (name, surname, contact details, professional title, and affiliated organization – hereinafter, the “Data”) shall be processed for the following purposes:
- a) To enable registration and participation in the Event, including active engagement through questions and contributions;
b) To send Participants, both during and after the Event, through automated and traditional means of communication, informational updates regarding events and initiatives similar to the Event, promoted by Becker.
LEGAL BASIS AND MANDATORY NATURE OF DATA PROCESSING
The legal basis for processing the Data for purpose (a) is the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures; consequently, the provision of such Data is mandatory for Event participation—failure to provide the requested Data will preclude registration.
The legal basis for processing the Data for purpose (b) is Beckers’s legitimate interest in maintaining an ongoing professional relationship with its contacts. Participants may object to such processing at any time on grounds relating to their specific situation, including by submitting an immediate request via email to Becker. In case of objection, the Data will no longer be processed for this purpose.
DATA RETENTION, STORAGE, AND DISCLOSURE
The Data will be processed using both automated and manual methods and stored in paper and electronic archives in compliance with the security measures set forth in the GDPR. Data will be retained on Becker’s servers located within the European Union for the time necessary to fulfill the aforementioned purposes.
Data may be disclosed exclusively to:
- Authorized personnel within Becker;
- Other registered Participants, in cases where questions or contributions are made during discussions;
- Third-party service providers, specifically those managing the Event platform, who will process the Data in their capacity as Data Processors or authorized entities under appropriate contractual safeguards.
Under no circumstances will the Data be disseminated to unauthorized third parties or transferred outside the European Economic Area without ensuring compliance with applicable data protection standards.
PARTICIPANTS’ RIGHTS UNDER GDPR
Participants may exercise the rights granted under Articles 15-21 of the GDPR, including the right to:
- Access their personal Data;
- Rectify, update, or integrate inaccurate or incomplete Data;
- Request the erasure of Data or the restriction of processing where legally applicable;
- Obtain Data portability, where processing is based on consent or contract performance and carried out by automated means.

Participants are also informed of their right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) should they believe their rights under the GDPR have been infringed.
