MORRISTOWN, NJ, July 13, 2012 – Becker & Poliakoff, a diversified commercial law firm with more than 145 attorneys and lobbyists in Florida, New York City, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., and internationally, today announced that the firm has expanded its New Jersey-New York Community Association Law practice with the addition of attorney Martin C. Cabalar. Mr. Cabalar will be based in the Morristown office and will represent community associations throughout New Jersey and New York, including homeowner and condominium associations, as well as cooperatives.

Mr. Cabalar provides advice and counsel on a variety of issues to community association board members and participates in monthly board meetings. Additionally, Mr. Cabalar represents clients in civil lawsuits, mediations, arbitrations and trials, handling all aspects of these matters.  Mr. Cabalar also consults with the Firm’s Community Association Collection group, devoted exclusively to the collection of delinquent accounts within communities.

Mr. Cabalar received his B.A. from Montclair State University, cum laude, and his J.D. Degree from Rutgers University School of Law/ Newark. He is a member of the New Jersey chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI-NJ) and served on the group’s 2012 Conference Event & Outreach work group. Prior to joining Becker & Poliakoff, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Philip M. Freedman, Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex Vicinage.
