Partnership for Public Facilities and Infrastructure Act Guidelines Task Force Final Report and Recommendations
The Partnership for Public Facilities and Infrastructure Act Guidelines Task Force has submitted its final report to the Governor, President of the Senate and Speaker of the House. I would like to thank those of you who contributed to the Task Force and offered guidance and suggestions. I should point out that Florida, as a home rule state, empowers local governments more than many states. Consequently, our Task Force felt strongly that the Florida’s P3 legislation should not replace or reduce existing powers Florida government entities currently possess but rather be supplemental to existing powers and authority.
As champions of the P3 delivery method our task is not over. There are a number of statutory changes the Task Force is recommending that will greatly enhance our ability to use this tool in our state.
