Becker ‘s business litigation department provides sophisticated advice, guidance, and, where necessary, litigation services to both business entities and to individuals involving complex tax issues. We have extensive experience in the United States Tax Court, United States Court of Claims, and in federal and state courts involving both civil and criminal matters. We successfully have engaged in pre-indictment advocacy, resulting in non-prosecution decisions involving both the United States Justice Department as well as the Attorney Generals of New York and New Jersey.
Becker’s business litigation team also represents taxpayers both before the Internal Revenue Service, the United States Tax Court and the United States Court of Claims in civil tax controversies. We have successfully litigated such cases, achieving advantageous settlements where settlement is appropriate, and successful litigation results when necessary.
