Nicholas Hessing is a Senior Government Relations Consultant in Becker’s Fort Lauderdale office, where he leverages deep experience in public policy, advocacy, and community engagement to help clients navigate complex legislative and regulatory environments. With a strong background in local and state political campaigns and strategic communications, Nicholas brings a results-driven approach to advancing client priorities across Florida.
Nicholas has managed and supported high-profile political campaigns, including serving as Campaign Manager for the successful re-election of Senate Minority Leader Lauren Book in Florida Senate District 35. In addition to his political and legislative work, Nicholas is deeply committed to community service. He currently serves on the Oakland Park Planning and Zoning Board and has been a Guardian Ad Litem in Florida’s 17th Judicial Circuit since 2020, advocating for the best interests of children in the dependency system. His civic engagement spans multiple leadership roles, including Vice Chair of the United Way of Broward County Public Policy Committee and Chair of the Broward AWARE! Campaign, where he led regional initiatives to prevent child abuse and neglect. Nicholas has also played key roles with the Hispanic Unity of Florida Public Policy and Advocacy Committee, ACHE of South Florida, and the Lauderhill Health & Prosperity Partnership, where he helped expand Water Smart Communities designations in municipalities to reduce youth drowning.
