TAMPA, Fla. – January 22, 2016 – Becker & Poliakoff announced today that it is expanding its Government Law and Lobbying Practice Group with the addition of Karen Skyers to its Tampa, Fla., Regional Office.
Tapping high-level expertise developed from her years inside state government as a legislative aide to Florida Senator Arthenia Joyner, Skyers will focus her practice on representing clients in front of the state legislature and the executive branch of government, and local governments throughout the region. .

Prior to joining Becker & Poliakoff, Skyers represented clients’ interests before the Florida Legislature as an independent contractor and lobbyist for Southern Strategy Group. Skyers, who is bilingual in Spanish, received a law degree from Florida A&M University College of Law where she was secretary of the Black Law Student Association and a leader in the Hispanic Law Student Association.
