Becker Shareholder Jie Chengying Xiu Appointed Senior Advisor to the President and Board of the Asian American Business Development Center
The 2014 Outstanding 50 honoree will support AABDC’s next phase
of organizational development and community leadership.
September 30, 2026 — NEW YORK, N.Y. — Becker is pleased to announce that Jie Chengying Xiu, a shareholder in the firm’s New York office, has been appointed Senior Advisor to the President and Board of the Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC). The appointment was approved by unanimous written consent of AABDC’s Board of Directors.
In this strategic advisory role, Xiu will support AABDC as it strengthens its governance framework and plans for its next phase of institutional development. Her advisory responsibilities may include organizational development, board recruitment and onboarding, committee design, strategic partnerships, leadership initiatives, and the review of significant organizational initiatives.
Xiu’s appointment builds on her longstanding connection with AABDC. In 2014, she received the organization’s Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award, which recognizes the achievements and contributions of Asian American business leaders and professionals across the United States. Her transition from honoree to senior advisor provides an opportunity to help shape the organization’s future and extend its impact.
AABDC is a nonprofit organization that promotes Asian American business achievement, leadership, and economic opportunity. Through its programs and partnerships, it connects entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and professionals while raising awareness of Asian Americans’ contributions to the broader economy. Its signature Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Awards program, established in 2001, celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2026.
At Becker, Xiu focuses her practice on capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and general corporate matters. She advises domestic and international clients on securities offerings and complex business transactions, including cross-border matters. This experience brings a valuable perspective to AABDC’s organizational planning and development.
“It is an honor to support an organization that has done so much to recognize Asian American achievement and create opportunities for connection and leadership,” said Xiu. “Having been recognized by AABDC in 2014, I am grateful for the opportunity to give back in this new capacity and help strengthen its foundation for the future.”
Through Xiu’s service, Becker continues to build connections with the Asian American business and professional community. Her appointment reflects the firm’s support for its attorneys’ community leadership and engagement. Most recently, Becker’s Regional Managing Shareholder and Corporate Practice Chair Victor J. DiGioia and Shareholder Michael A. Goldstein attended AABDC’s 25th Anniversary Outstanding 50 Awards Gala at Xiu’s invitation, joining her in celebrating the organization’s mission and this year’s honorees.
Xiu serves in a nonvoting strategic advisory capacity, distinct from a director or officer position.
