Donna DiMaggio Berger Rejoins Becker & Poliakoff Community Association Law Practice Group

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL, March 5 — Becker & Poliakoff is pleased to announce that attorney Donna DiMaggio Berger has rejoined the firm’s Community Association Law practice group as a shareholder in Ft. Lauderdale.

Ms. Berger served as a member of the firm’s Community Association Law practice group from 1992 to 2007. In 2007, she joined the Broward County-based law firm of Katzman & Korr and became a name partner in 2010.  She created and managed the transactional practice for the renamed Katzman Garfinkel & Berger.

“We are excited to welcome Donna back to Becker & Poliakoff,” said Gary Rosen, managing shareholder. “Donna is an outstanding leader in the field of community association law. Becker & Poliakoff is committed to maintaining its leadership in Community Association Law by offering clients the very best attorneys in this highly specialized area of law.”

“Our deep bench strength and multi-dimensional practice mix are assets that attracted Donna back to Becker & Poliakoff,” said Ken Direktor, chair of the Community Association Law practice group. “Our 170 professionals serving clients in various areas of the law from offices throughout Florida and in New York, New Jersey, Washington, DC and Northern, Virginia provide resources that allow Donna to best serve her substantial client base.”

“Becker & Poliakoff offers experts in complementary practices, such as construction law, that my clients need and can rely on,” Ms. Berger explained.  “I am looking forward to reuniting with my former colleagues at Becker & Poliakoff and working again with this group of top notch attorneys.”

Becker & Poliakoff has the largest dedicated Community Association Law practice in the country and has recently expanded the practice with the addition of several prominent, experienced Community Association lawyers in Florida and nationally.

These additions included attorneys Jane Cornett and Howard Googe from the Cornett & Googe firm in Stuart, Florida, and Harry Carls, Robert Taylor and the 10 lawyers of Taylor & Carls, a leading Central Florida Community Association law firm. Additionally, New Jersey lawyers David Ramsey and Jennifer Loheac established the firm’s first Community Association practice outside of Florida.

With the addition of Ms. Berger, the firm now includes six members of the prestigious College of Community Lawyers (CCAL), a national organization affiliated with the Community Association Institute. The CCAL recognizes attorneys who have distinguished themselves through contributions to the evolution and practice of community association law. CCAL members are also recognized for committing themselves to high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
