Learn to Use all of the Tools on the CALL Website

As we usher in the New Year, we wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the features and benefits of the Community Association Leadership Lobby (CALL) website. We hope that throughout 2020 you will find our updates on proposed legislation educational, but more than that we hope that the tools and resources found on the site will encourage you to engage with your representatives to ensure that this year’s Legislative Session benefits the community associations that you all work so hard to represent. CALL ALERTS The purpose of CALL Alerts is to provide weekly updates on current legislation in both Florida and the federal government that impact community associations. Each CALL Alert includes an in-depth analysis on a variety of issues and policies as well as updates on the procedural status of significant bills as they make their way through the legislative process. For example, our CALL Alerts will keep you informed on how each bill has progressed through committee review and what amendments, if any, have been proposed. We will also discuss more generally the trends in our industry as well as best practices in the field of common interest developments. Updated weekly, the CALL Bill Report includes the bill number, the date it was filed, the bill sponsor, a summary of the bill, which statutes would be affected or amended, and the last action taken on the bill. Each bill is categorized as having either a direct or indirect impact on community associations and will also be identified as either helpful, harmful or neutral. The Report also includes continually updated information on which assigned Legislative Committees have taken up review of each particular bill and what amendments have been proposed. Hyperlinks embedded in the Bill Report allow you to access information on the composition of the Senate Committee members so that you can contact your representatives during their review of a particular bill.
