Nicholas Hessing Joins Becker’s Powerhouse Local and State Lobbying Team
Former Broward Children’s Services Council Government Relations Manager Joins Growing Group
Ft Lauderdale, FL – December 8, 2025 – Becker is pleased to announce that Nicholas Hessing has joined the firm’s government lobbying team. Hessing will support Becker’s state lobbying team and longtime Broward lobbyist Bernie Friedman in representing more than 50 active clients before the County Commission and Broward cities.
Hessing brings to Becker excellent hands-on governmental and political experience as Governmental Relations Manager of the $160 M budgeted Children’s Services Council (CSC) of Broward County and campaign manager for Mayor Dean Trantalis and Senator Lauren Book.
“During his time with the Children’s Services Council, Nic assisted the CSC’s 100+ funded agencies navigating complex local, state, and federal government systems, and delivered results for these organizations and for the children and families they serve. Nic’s expertise in government affairs, community relations, and his innate drive to shape our county’s health and future will be an asset to Becker and Broward for years to come,” said Nan Rich, Broward County Commissioner, and former State Senator.
“As my campaign manager, Nic collaborated with civic and business leaders and other elected officials to craft a winning strategy that brought us to victory. I am excited to see him embark on this new chapter in his career,” noted Dean Trantalis, Mayor of City of Fort Lauderdale.
“Nic has grown from his time as my Chief Legislative Aide, into a sharp, driven lobbyist who moves with integrity. Becker is well respected across Florida, D.C., and beyond, and I am so happy for Nic and the entire Becker team,” stated Robin Bartleman, State Representative and Broward County Legislative Delegation Chair.
“I am thrilled to bring the strong relationships that I’ve developed with civic, business charitable organization leaders throughout South Florida to Becker and look forward to collaborating with Becker’s talented team of Government lobbyists as we grow,” explained Nic Hessing.
Hessing earned his B.S. from Florida State University and is soon to graduate with his Executive MBA in Healthcare Management and Policy from the University of Miami.
