Scott Marcus Reappointed to Florida Realtor-Attorney Joint Committee

Real Estate Shareholder Scott A. Marcus has been reappointed to the Florida Realtor-Attorney Joint Committee. The 22 member committee is made up of eleven attorneys appointed by The Florida Bar and eleven Realtor®/broker members appointed by Florida Realtors®. Mr. Marcus has served on the Committee since 2017 and will continue to represent the 4^th Appellate District for another two-year term commencing January 1, 2020.

The committee is responsible for rewriting the FAR/BAR Contract, the most widely used residential purchase contract in the state of Florida. The updated version of the FAR/BAR contract is expected to be rolled out in early 2020.

“It has been quite an honor to serve on the committee. To be appointed for a second term is something special,” said Mr. Marcus.

Mr. Marcus co-chairs the residential real estate division of the Becker’s Real Estate practice group and serves as President of Becker Title, the firm’s title company. ATS provides real estate closing, title, and escrow services throughout the State of Florida and handles closings in all of Florida’s 67 counties. Through ATS, Mr. Marcus has created an educational boot camp for real estate agents, presenting to over 500 agents in 2019 alone.
