Clarence Williams, Senior Government Relations Consultant in Becker’s Washington, DC office, participated in the annual Federal Public Private Partnership Conference as an expert on Opportunity Zones. Clarence discussed how local communities can take advantage of the new Opportunity Zones program and how they can build a vision that can transform cities and communities.
The sessions Clarence led included participants from around the country from public entities, community development groups, construction, development, and infrastructure finance companies. Opportunity Zones are a program created by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that became law in December 2017. The program will provide favorable tax treatment for investments that spur economic growth in distressed communities.
