Becker Assists in Public-Private Partnership Creation of New Pickleball Venue The Fort in Fort Lauderdale

January 3, 2024 – Becker, a leading multi-practice commercial law firm with attorneys, lobbyists, and other professionals throughout the United States, is pleased to have been a part of the team that obtained approval of The Fort, an innovative public-private partnership with the City of Fort Lauderdale providing world-class pickleball facilities plus social and culinary offerings. Specifically, Becker was lead counsel and consultant on the project; negotiated the comprehensive agreement and continues to work with the City of Fort Lauderdale through the development process.

In The Fort, social and competitive pickleball players can choose from 43 professional courts at the world’s first dedicated pickleball stadium. The state-of-the-art facility offers open and reserved play, clinics, leagues, tournaments and watching touring pros train.

Founded by long-term Fort Lauderdale locals, The Fort gives back to the local community. From local charities to youth and senior programs, The Fort will host fundraising events and provide pickleball equipment and training to every Fort Lauderdale public school.

The proposed grand opening is scheduled for end of 2024.
