Becker Grows Florida Community Association Practice with New Bradenton Office; Adds Mary R. Hawk and Bryony G. Swift

July 25, 2023 – Ft. Lauderdale, FL — Becker, a multi-practice commercial law firm with attorneys, lobbyists, and other professionals in Florida, New York, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C., announces that Mary R. Hawk and Bryony G. Swift have joined as shareholders in the firm’s Florida community association practice.

They will both be based in Becker’s new Bradenton office, the firm’s 12th location in Florida, which is expected to open in September 2023. Ms. Hawk and Ms. Swift will also practice out of the firm’s Sarasota office.

Ms. Hawk and Ms. Swift were most recently with Porges, Hamlin, Knowles & Hawk, P.A.

With 25 years of experience in the Sarasota/Bradenton area, Ms. Hawk focuses on mediation and litigation in the areas of condominium and homeowner association law, probate litigation, landlord/tenant law and mobile home law. She is a Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and a Certified Arbitrator. Ms. Hawk is admitted to practice in Florida and Georgia and received her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law magna cum laude. She was the 2022 president of the Community Association Institute’s West Florida Chapter and currently serves as President of Friends of DeSoto National Memorial.

Ms. Swift has 10 years of experience advising community associations in Southwestern Florida including condominiums, cooperatives, homeowner associations, and mobile home communities on a wide range of issues. She also has experience litigating complex commercial and real property matters from intake through post-trial motions, including experience with class action litigation. Ms. Swift received her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law.
