Community Association Leadership Lobby Announces Advisory Board

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL, June 25, 2014 – The Community Association Leadership Lobby (CALL), Florida’s leading community association advocacy organization, today announced the newly appointed CALL Advisory Board, which will provide input on CALL’s vision, strategy and outreach.

The Advisory Board consists of community association industry leaders and veterans from across the state who will assist CALL in prioritizing its policies aimed at enhancing the quality of life and preserving property values for residents of community associations.

Created by the law firm of Becker & Poliakoff, CALL advocates on behalf of more than 4,000 member communities, including condominiums, homeowners’ associations, mobile home communities and cooperatives throughout Florida.

“We are delighted to announce the formation of the CALL Advisory Board,” said Ken Direktor, Chair of Becker & Poliakoff’s Community Association Practice Group.  “We look forward to working with this diverse group of individuals who have deep insight into the challenges and opportunities facing common-ownership residential communities in Florida.”

The newly appointed members of the CALL Advisory Board are:

“I have worked with these advisors for many years to shape positive community association legislation,” said attorney, Donna DiMaggio Berger, a shareholder in Becker & Poliakoff’s Community Association Law Group. “Their willingness to serve on CALL’s Advisory Board will enable us to gain valuable input on CALL’s legislative agenda as well as to broaden the scope of our outreach and the distribution channels for our many resource materials.”

CALL monitors and responds to proposed legislation that can significantly impact members and provides educational services that promote better association management. Additionally, CALL conducts research about the general population of community association residents across Florida to better understand the needs and concerns of this important segment of the population.

“We are fortunate that our public policy makers have come to rely on CALL as the go-to resource on all issues pertaining to Florida’s significant population residing in shared ownership communities,” said Becker & Poliakoff attorney Yeline Goin, who serves as CALL executive director and lobbyist. “As a result, we can be sure that our collective voice will be heard when it counts most.”

She continued, “These advisors will enable us to gain valuable input on CALL’s legislative agenda while providing a local connection between CALL and members of the Florida Legislature. They will serve as CALL ambassadors and help to spread CALL’s mission of outreach, advocacy, and education.”

Pio Ieraci of the Galt Mile Community Association commented, “I am honored to serve on CALL’s inaugural Advisory Board and, along with my fellow Board Members, am dedicated to spreading CALL’s important mission of outreach, advocacy, and education.”
