Government law and lobbying have been a core practice for the firm since its founding in 1973. The team of lawyers and lobbyists includes several who have served in high-level government positions and have distinguished themselves in the political, legislative and local governmental arenas. The Government team includes former and current City attorneys, former and current elected officials, former legislative aides to Florida legislators, former chiefs of staff to U.S. Congressmen in Washington, D.C., and campaign managers for a myriad of elected officials. This first-hand working knowledge of government, at every level, provides clients with valuable insights and understanding of the legislative, administrative, and regulatory processes, and helps clients navigate the maze of government.
Founding shareholder Alan Becker served in the Florida Legislature before running for statewide office and U.S. Congress. He is the past chair of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council and is on Executive Board of Enterprise Florida.

Also in Broward is Nick Matthews, a former Chief of Staff to a State Senator and lobbyist for Broward County. Yolanda Cash Jackson, the group’s State Government team leader, uses her “deep community roots” and “personal ties to influential personalities” (Miami Herald, May 11, 2010) to advance clients’ interests with the Legislature, Executive Agencies, and Governor. Mario Bailey, a gubernatorial appointee to the South Florida Regional Planning Council, a former Legislative Aide in the Florida House and active member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, is also a lobbyist on our Tallahassee lobbying team. Former Republican Senator Ellyn Bogdanoff brings a treasure trove of relationships in Palm Beach, Broward, the Legislature and Executive Agencies. Yeline Goin is the Executive Director of the firm’s Community Association Leadership Lobby (CALL). Yeline also lobbies on behalf of cities and other clients and is based in Orlando.

They lead the Federal lobbying effort in Washington, D.C. along with Amanda Wood, former Chief Legislative Director to Senator Bob Graham. Bert Gómez is a Senior Corporate and Government Relations Director in Washington, D.C. Bert was a Senior Vice President of Univision and is well respected on Capitol Hill and the Executive Agencies.
