Becker Announces Leadership Transition for Condo, Co-Op & HOA Practice
David G. Muller Appointed Chair; Donna DiMaggio Berger to Serve as Vice Chair; Kenneth S. Direktor Named Chair Emeritus
Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Sept 22, 2026 — Becker, a multi-practice commercial law firm with attorneys, lobbyists, and other professionals, is pleased to announce a planned, strategic leadership transition within its Condo, Co-Op & HOA practice, as Kenneth S. Direktor assumes the position of Chair Emeritus.
Succeeding Kenneth as Chair is David G. Muller, after serving as Co-Vice Chair for several years while taking on increasingly significant leadership responsibilities. In addition to managing Florida’s Naples, Sarasota, and Bradenton offices, David has overseen the growth and operations of Becker’s Community Association Practice, supporting its expanding presence throughout Florida and across the firm’s broader geographic footprint.
In his prior role as Co-Vice Chair, David was tasked with leading the development of the practice’s next generation of attorneys through the Condo, Co-Op & HOA associate training program. His leadership experience, attorney development and mentoring skills, and oversight of one of Becker’s fastest-growing Community Association markets, positions him well to lead the practice as it continues to evolve and expand.
Donna DiMaggio Berger will serve as Vice Chair of the Condo, Co-Op & HOA group. A Becker shareholder and Board Certified Specialist in Condominium and Planned Development Law, Donna is also a Fellow of the College of Community Association Lawyers. She has devoted more than three decades of her legal career to representing community associations and will continue to work with David in managing and growing the practice group while serving as a leading voice in the community association industry.
Donna’s thought leadership includes hosting Becker’s popular Take It To The Board podcast, now in its fifth season, where she explores timely legal, governance and emerging issues affecting community associations. She also regularly educates board members and industry professionals through webinars and other programs on topics ranging from building safety and disaster preparedness to artificial intelligence and the evolving challenges facing community associations. Kenneth remains an active member of the practice, continuing to serve his clients while providing strategic guidance and insight to David and Donna.
During his 22-year tenure as Chair, Kenneth played a pivotal role in building Becker’s Condo, Co-Op & HOA practice into the firm’s largest practice by headcount, revenue and originations. Under his leadership, the practice grew substantially in size, scope and geographic reach, establishing a strong foundation for its continued future and success.
