Bio

Terri N. Thomas is a Shareholder in Becker’s Real Estate Practice. She represents local and national businesses, banks, and individuals in all aspects of commercial lending and purchase and sale transactions. Ms. Thomas also handles the drafting and negotiation of complex commercial contracts including lease renewals, employment agreements, insurance policies, real estate sales addenda, and builder agreements, and provides counsel to clients involved in litigation and mediation matters.

Ms. Thomas has been documenting loans for top tier banks for nearly ten years. She is a former state and local board member for the Risk Management Association and has taught classes on lender liability, loan documentation, and foreclosure at both the regular and advanced lending school at the University of Central Florida Executive Center. Ms. Thomas is cross-trained in both litigation and transaction work, including creditors’ remedies/bankruptcy, providing her with a unique perspective on workout potential and risks analysis associated with documentation enforcement.

Having represented national associations, community banks, and private lenders in some of the highest levels of lender liability and guarantee enforcement cases along the Gulf Shore of Florida, Ms. Thomas has substantial experience in complex matters involving syndicated loans, CDD financing, and mezzanine financing. She has also been a licensed loan officer for the past three years.

Ms. Thomas previously served as the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for a real estate brokerage franchise, title company, property management and start up mortgage franchise. Having serviced over 150 real estate agents in all types of transactions, Ms. Thomas is particularly skilled in residential and commercial real estate matters relating to title and mortgage.

Ms. Thomas received her J.D., with honors, from the University of Florida and her B.A., highest distinction, from Pennsylvania State University.
